Case 3: Bohemia Mining Days

The Client

As described on their website, "Bohemia Mining Days celebrates Cottage Grove’s colorful history. The family-friendly festival is organized by a board of community-minded volunteers who work closely with the Festival Coordinator throughout the year to ensure this annual summer tradition lives on for future generations to enjoy." This event is attended by upwards of 20,000 visitors a year, and is easily the biggest event in the small town of Cottage Grove, Oregon.

The Project

The BMD board and the Festival Coordinator, Sharon Jean, wanted to rejuvinate interest in this city's treasured event. It had floundered a little the past few years, and needed some new mojo. Formula Design participated in developing a new theme, "The Feud," and created a new identity and brand for the festival, along with providing marketing strategy and event planning. We also strengthened their social media presence, and will continue working with BMD to reach further in their marketing for future festivals.
